BedZED, Civic Trust Award
About the award
In March 2004, BedZED won a civic trust award. The award promotes sustainable architecture and construction.
The Civic Trust Awards were established in 1959 and are one of the oldest built environment award schemes in Europe. They are given to outstanding projects in architecture, planning, environmental design, landscape, public art and urban design.
From cafes and churches to housing and hospitals, the Civic Trust has rewarded over 5,500 buildings which have provided the design and facilities to make better places for people.
