About Freya

Researcher to the Director
Freya has an MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh. Prior to joining BioRegional she worked in India for 2 years. Based in New Delhi, she volunteered for 1 year as a VSO Youth for Development Volunteer with a women’s HIV+ self help network and then went on to volunteer as a Researcher and Programme Advisor with the Times of India newspaper and coordinate the launch of VSO India’s National Volunteering Programme. Most recently Freya was working with the Centre for Legislative Research and Advocacy as Programme Manager of Climate Change projects, where she worked closely with Indian parliamentarians to influence policy and legislation.
She has recently set up a small jam and chutney making venture called Preservation, which uses only locally grown produce to promote the concept of local sustainability in her community.
Freya now works in the central team at BioRegional as Researcher to the Director.
