Mark Perry
About Mark
Head of Development
Mark heads up BioRegional’s income generation activity, and oversees the development of new projects and initiatives to win investment and support.
With extensive experience of working in the NGO sector, Mark’s formative years were spent in the National Trust Policy Office grasping the significance of the emerging concept of sustainable development, identified by the Brundtland Commission. Mark also doubled up as a researcher for Lord Chorley, an environment and rural economy champion, in the Lords.
Stints leading a deaf youth charity as CEO, facilitating Government, EU and lottery funding bids at Age Concern England and YouthNet, including managing strategic partnerships and engaging Government decision-makers, have taught Mark the inextricable importance of empowering communities in all shapes and sizes to transform their lives.
In returning to sustainability work, this has refreshed Mark’s passion long stirred by winter mountaineering, restoring an ancient cottage and walking in the sticks of the High Weald with his wife and dog. Mark also champions deaf talent, having served as Chair of GB Tennis for 13 years working with the LTA and its charity arm, the Tennis Foundation.
