Case study: Greening Businesses in Hackbridge

Sutton Council and BioRegional are running a 2-year project helping small businesses cut waste and save money. In this project, BioRegional are running events and visiting businesses for a free eco-audit and advice. The audits will help businesses to reduce energy and water bills, cut waste, and join together to buy services more efficiently. There will also be an online forum where businesses can network and share ideas.

BioRegional will run 10 workshops for all interested small businesses in Hackbridge, then follow-up with audits, grants advice and practical measures. By the end of the project, 50 businesses will have made real changes to their consumption and have made major progress on energy, water and waste in particular.

This project will run until March 2012 and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Date of completion: Ongoing until March 2012
