BioRegional’s role as catalyst has led to the implementation of ground-breaking and award-winning work in eco-housing, fibres, sustainable forestry, sustainable agriculture, paper and recycling. This includes the BedZED eco-development in London. Following the success of BedZED, BioRegional has increasingly been asked to work on sustainable development and community projects to transfer the knowledge of what had worked, and what had not, into these projects.

BioRegional Consulting was established in July 2004 to respond to this demand, and to build the internal technical capacity required to deliver the One Planet Living initiative with WWF. Since then BioRegional Consulting has developed its own identity and reputation. We bid for work, independently or as part of teams, and generate an increasing amount of work through repeat appointments and recommendations from clients.

Much of BioRegional Consulting’s work has related to our Sustainable Communities / Sustainable Living programmes, but we are increasingly working with a range of business partners in a variety of different fields.

BioRegional Consulting is a wholly owned trading subsidiary of the charity BioRegional Development Group. This allows BioRegional Consulting to follow the charity’s original principles of finding commercially viable methods of delivering sustainable solutions, and where possible generates profits that can be used to fund further programmes internally.

By working with 'commercial' partners, we are inherently supporting BioRegional's ethos of 'mainstreaming' and developing viable solutions in a market economy.
