Of the 82 homes at BedZED, 34 are for outright sale, 23 are for shared ownership and 10 will be let to key workers at cost rents. The remaining 15 are for social housing and will be let at affordable rents.

Initial sales prices for the different types of homes at BedZED are as follows:
· One bed flat with garden £102,500
· Two bed flat with garden £140,000
· Three bed maisonette £170,000
· Four bed house £238,500

In addition to the 82 new homes, BedZED will include flexible workspace areas of approximately 80m2 for sale or to let, providing residents with the opportunity to establish studios or other premises for creative and technology-based businesses. The available workspace will be offered to residents of BedZED first and then more widely if any remain vacant.

Richard McCarthy, Chief Executive of the Peabody Trust, said:
“We have had an extremely high level of interest in BedZED from prospective purchasers and the opening of the show home complex marks the start of a particularly exciting stage for the development. I am confident that the innovative environmental features at BedZED and the provision of homes with a mix of tenures as well as the facilities provided, will create a sustainable new community that could provide a model for future urban developments.”
