Planet Lifestyles Workshop, Saturday 17th June 2006
This
workshop is open to anyone who would like to live a more sustainable
life.
If everyone in the world lived as we do in Europe we would need
three planets to support us. We need to reduce our impact - our
ecological footprint – by two thirds to live within our fair
share of the earth’s resources. This workshop will look at
what you can do as an individual, and in your community, to reduce
your impact.
The
workshop is in three parts:
1.
Introduction to One Planet Living, a joint initiative from BioRegional
and WWF
We will look at the impact we all have on the environment, and explore
how the 10 One Planet Living principles can be used as a tool to
help us, as individuals, reduce our impact to the One Planet level.
2.
Mini-Tour of BedZED
This will be a chance to explore the show-home at BedZED, the UK’s
largest eco-village, to see the measures taken to reduce energy
and water consumption in the home, and in our lifestyles.
3. One Planet Lifestyles Workshop
Using the One Planet Living principles as a framework, we will work
in groups to share ideas on how to bring about change in our own
lives and in the wider community.
