One Planet Living®: United Arab Emirates

The UAE has the highest per capita Ecological Footprint in the world. Construction has been taking place there at a frantic pace for some years now and shows no signs of slowing. There is a pressing need for the country to develop solutions to reduce its impacts.

BioRegional are helping develop these solutions along with our partners EWS/WWF-UAE. We are working with Mubadala Developments and the Foster and Partners-led masterplanning team to conceptualise and detail the incredibly ambitious sustainability strategies of the Masdar eco-city development.

BioRegional are also developing Sustainability Action Plans for the Abu Dhabi Eco-Park project for developers Al-Dar as part of the masterplanning team led by Singapore-based A+D architects, and with developers Sama Dubai for one of their projects in Morocco.
