One Planet Living® UK: Endorsed Community - One Gallions

BioRegional Quintain, in partnership with Crest Nicholson and Southern Housing Group have been selected by the London Development Agency to be developers for London Mayor Ken Livingstone's flagship zero carbon scheme in the Thames Gateway.

One Gallions is a 233 home project with 35% affordable homes. The scheme will meet all of its heat and power needs from an onsite wood fired combined heat and power plant managed by a Community Energy Services Company. Wood fuel will be sourced from tree surgery arisings or from clean wood waste.

Working with architects, Fielden Clegg Bradley and Arup engineers, the scheme will achieve Level 4+ under the Code for Sustainable Homes.
