Developing your One Planet Action Plan
We will coach you and your team through the development of a plan which addresses each of the One Planet principles. This includes committing to long term ambitions including a substantial and absolute reduction to your carbon footprint.
Submitting your One Planet Action Plan for independent review
We know that you need to be able to communicate your performance and ambitions internally and externally. BioRegional’s endorsement process reviews the commitments laid out in your One Planet Action Plan against measures of absolute sustainability. If endorsed you will be able use the ‘planet with the heart’ logo to promote your achievement, helping you to build reputation, secure investment and gain customers.
Implementing your One Planet Action Plan
On the basis of the commitments laid out in your One Planet Action Plan BioRegional can provide a bespoke engagement and services package to make sure you achieve your sustainability ambitions.
Reviewing progress and performance
Being a leader means reflecting on, and learning from, the opportunities and challenges faced. In order to support you in this – and as a requirement of maintaining One Planet endorsement - BioRegional carries out an annual review of progress against the commitments made in your One Planet Action Plan.

Case study
Endorsed One Planet Company
Client: B&Q
B&Q is the largest home improvement and garden centre retailer in the UK. BioRegional and B&Q have been working together since 2007 to develop and implement a One Planet Home Action Plan for B&Q operations – covering each of the ten One Planet Living principles. We have helped B&Q to understand and reduce its environmental impacts throughout the supply chain and to help customers achieve One Planet Living in their homes.
We are working with the B&Q team on implementing the Action Plan through projects such as developing concepts for a zero carbon store, retrofitting existing stores to reduce energy consumption and designing out waste from the construction of a new head office building.
2010 results include: a 20 per cent reduction in total carbon emissions, 100 per cent sustainable timber sourcing and a 4,000 strong range of One Planet Home products.
B&Q’s commitment to sustainability has received recognition; it won the Observer’s 2010 Ethical Business of the Year and was placed 18th in the Sunday Times Top 60 Best Green Companies.
B&Q is an endorsed One Planet Company and its One Planet Action Plan is verified by BioRegional.

Case study
One Brighton – endorsed One Planet Community
Client: BioRegional Quintain / Crest Nicholson
One Brighton is an award-winning development by Crest Nicholson / BioRegional Quintain in the New England Quarter of Brighton on the south coast of England. The community comprises 172 apartments – from eco-studios to 3-bedroom units – plus office and community space. Construction started in 2008 with the first residents moving in during 2009. The development was fully occupied in late 2010.
Since 1999, BioRegional had worked with the local Brighton community and planning officers to support development of the wider New England Quarter, promoting a mixed use development rather than simply an out-of-town style supermarket with extensive parking. A small grant from the South East England Development Agency enabled first concept work to be done on a One Planet development within the New England Quarter.
One Brighton is an endorsed One Planet Community and the One Planet Action Plan produced by BioRegional Quintain is verified by BioRegional.
