Bust your carbon week
Client: Carillion
In December 2010, BioRegional ran a ‘Bust your Carbon’ behaviour change campaign targeted at site and office staff building the Media Hub for London 2012. Designed around DEFRA’s framework for pro-environmental behaviour (The 4 E’s: Enable, Engage, Exemplify and Encourage), the week long campaign used interactive games and displays including a giant carbon footprint hunt around the site. Staff were encouraged to complete a quiz and pledge to adopt some simple lifestyle changes. 200 staff got involved, committing to take action that collectively would result in savings of over 80 tonnes of carbon emissions.

Sustainability communications workshop
Client: Middlesbrough Council
In 2010 we ran a one day workshop for Middlesbrough’s communications and environment team and external stakeholders to inform the design of a communications strategy for Middlesbrough Council’s One Planet Action Plan ahead of their plan to go public with the new approach.
We looked at what makes news and the sort of stories that the public are interested in. We also explored the key elements of communicating sustainability such as defining communications objectives, examining who the key audiences are, choosing methods of communicating with those audiences and evaluating communications work.
