certification of their street trees as an ‘urban forest’.
The partnership with BioRegional

Surrey County Council have a very active
forestry and woodlands programme. SCC have
worked with BioRegional to develop the concept
for a rural TreeStation.We hope to put this into
effect in the near future.
Small Woods Association

The Small Woods Association welcomes anyone
with an interest in small woodlands. It has been
addressing many of the problems that woodland
owners encounter and is a good source of
information and advice about owning and managing
a small wood.
Forestry Contractors Association

The FCA encompasses a number of specialist
groups including the coppice and charcoal specialist group. They
provide support to their members and can help to locate producers
of woodland products in your area.
The LogPile project

LogPile was set up to help people find local
suppliers of woodfuel. It includes a searchable
(by area and product) database of suppliers of logs, woodchip, wood
pellets and charcoal. LogPile is linked to the Big Barn website
which includes suppliers of many more locally produced foods
and other products.
The Clear Skies Initiative

Clear Skies is the government’s grant scheme for
renewable energy at domestic and community
scales. Grants are available for a wide range of
technologies. An accreditation scheme for installers
is another feature of ClearSkies.
