Today’s issues of climate change, biodiversity and equity in development, are more complex and pervasive than ever before. However, although the issues are complex, our over consumption of resources is clear; if everybody in the world lived as we do in the UK, we would need three planets to support us.

We therefore need an education system that develops the knowledge, skills and values necessary for living fairly within the resources of ONE planet.

The One Planet Living Academy project aims to create a secondary school that enables pupils to become active and able citizens who are able to create and enjoy a sustainable future; a fairer future for the planet and all its people.

BioRegional will be developing the concept and partnerships to bring ‘One Planet Living’ into the lives of young people.

The project will research, vision and plan how a One Planet Living Academy may be formed and will explore sites for the school's location.

One Planet Living is a global initiative based on 10 principles of sustainability developed by BioRegional and WWF.
