Do you have experience in creating shareable content across channels, with a strong understanding of social media best practice? Are you passionate about communications for sustainable change?

We’re looking for a motivated communications officer who wants to use their creative flair and comms skills to help us achieve our mission to champion a better, more sustainable future.

Experience and responsibilities

Educated to degree level, you’ll have at least two years’ experience in communications, with demonstrable skills in using social media to support marketing and communications objectives. You’ll also have a good eye for design, ideally with experience of using InDesign, Adobe Spark or Canva.

Reporting to our Digital Communications Manager, your day-to-day activities will include

  • Helping develop and implementing our social media plan across channels including Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and Instagram
  • Creating shareable social media content (text, images and video) as well as staying up to date with social media best practice
  • Monitoring performance against our KPIs and making recommendations for improvement
  • Designing simple artwork for a range of online and print materials using InDesign and online platforms like Adobe Spark
  • Supporting the management of our website including using Google Analytics to track our performance
  • Supporting on event marketing and planning
  • Managing our library of photos and other assets

The post is permanent and full-time, and is based at our offices at the award-winning BedZED eco-village in South London, on the mainline Victoria and Thameslink train lines.

Salary: between £23-£25,000 depending on experience, plus 6% employer’s ethical pension contribution and 25 days annual leave, rising by one day a year up to five years’ service.
