After four years in a hard hat and high-vis jacket on a major construction project, our resident ‘energy performance gap guru’ Douglas Drewniak shares his ten top tips on closing the gap between building design and performance
I’m a practical expert with most of my career spent on construction sites in the UK and Germany, from engineering roles to managing research and from energy performance testing to training. I manage and deliver Bioregional's new service for housebuilders known as the Building Energy Performance Improvement Toolkit (BEPIT).
I managed research for Stewart Milne Timber Systems on AIMC4, pioneering the volume production of low carbon homes. I graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a first-class Honours degree in civil engineering before going on to gain an MSc in Advanced Structural Engineering.
I love the great outdoors – wild camping, swimming and trail running. I'm attempting my first Ironman in 2019.
