We spoke to Pizza Hut's Steve Packer about the progress the chain has made in reducing its carbon footprint - and how the casual dining sector is responding to growing public awareness of sustainability
Head of Sustainable Business
Since joining Bioregional in 2008 I have supported company-wide sustainability plans for a range of international clients including Kingfisher, B&Q, Innocent and Nando’s. I enjoy helping clients set ambitious science-based targets and help them track performance by putting the right monitoring systems in place.
I’m a Practitioner of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and am trained in the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and ISO14064 (the international standard for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals). I have a BA degree in Communications.
I headed up the business team at Emmaus Lambeth, a successful furniture, electrical and household goods reuse charity. In 2006 I bought a flat in BedZED because I just loved the design and One Planet Living ethos. A few years later I decided to apply for a job at Bioregional.
When I'm not at work
I love finding and restoring pre-loved furniture and when the sun is out you will find me on my bike or in my walking boots.
