We are excited to launch our new One Planet Living® Associate network today. From now, individuals who have received training from Bioregional will be eligible to join a group of formally assessed One Planet Living practitioners who can implement the One Planet Living sustainability framework in a project or organisation.

Anyone can apply to become a One Planet Living Associate. It is particularly suitable for built environment professionals, for engineers, architects and building consultants who work on real estate projects. Becoming an Associate is also well suited to sustainability consultants who help businesses with their corporate strategies, anywhere in the world. Community organisers and teachers are also welcome to apply.

Nicole Lazarus, Head of One Planet Living, says:

“We are delighted to launch our network today. Becoming a certified One Planet Living Associate will be a marker to clients that you are fully immersed in the One Planet Living approach to achieving systemic change. It will show that you have the skills and knowledge to take them on a journey to transform their projects and their operations.

“With this new string to your bow, as a One Planet Living Associate you will also benefit from mentoring by Bioregional’s experts, who have more than 15 years’ experience in using One Planet Living on pioneering zero-carbon projects and communities worldwide. A programme of peer-to-peer learning and networking opportunities will also be available.”

Sue Riddlestone OBE, CEO and co-founder of Bioregional says:

“With major UN climate talks coming up in November, this year really is a make-or-break year for tackling the climate and ecological emergency. Using One Planet Living is proven to result in radically reduced carbon emissions, waste and pollution, and significant improvements to people’s wellbeing. Our One Planet Living Associate network will support industry professionals to expand their offer to clients, help us scale up One Planet Living and enable more people to live truly sustainable lifestyles.”

To become an Associate, you will need to complete Bioregional’s 6-hour One Planet Action Plan Training, which introduces the concept of One Planet Living and the process for creating a One Planet Action Plan. This is followed by our 3-hour One Planet Living Associate training, which covers how to use the framework as a consultant. Following this, you will develop a One Planet Action Plan for a live project or an organisation, followed by a brief assessment.

The annual fee for being a One Planet Living Associate is currently £100 a year.

Bioregional has been running CPD-accredited training in One Planet Living since 2017. So far, over 250 people have gone through the training and gone on to integrate One Planet Living into a range of projects and organisations.
