Garth House Summary Report

This short report outlines how a radical makeover of Bicester Town Council’s offices has achieved impressive savings in energy bills and halved the building’s emissions of climate-changing carbon dioxide. It has also made the building more comfortable for staff, with better ventilation and less overheating in summer.

The major energy saving refit of The Garth was funded by Innovate UK and the building was monitored in depth for a year by experts at Oxford Brookes University’s Low Carbon Building Group. Other members of the team were sustainability charity Bioregional, which managed the project, and multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy Ridge and Partners LLP.
