City of Fremantle
The City of Fremantle (Perth, Australia) is a One Planet Living City with an ambitious Action Plan that aims to achieve a ‘One Planet Living’ lifestyle for its council, residents and business community by 2025
At Bioregional we help create pioneering eco-communities and support businesses to create sustainable products and services. Even before we initiated the UK's first major zero-carbon community at BedZED at the turn of the millennium, we had a long track record of working with innovative partners, giving communities the tools to live sustainable lives.
We have over 25 years' experience in helping communities become more sustainable. We have an in-house team of experts, a history of entrepreneurship, and a track record of delivering.
We couldn't do our work without the generous support of all our grant funders and partners. Their support is an essential source of income, enabling us to deliver practical solutions for sustainability, both in UK and internationally.
We have worked with several funders to innovate and develop our services, and grants have also supported our core costs, helping us to work with local communities.
At Bioregional our ambition is clear: to achieve a world where everyone, everywhere, lives happy, healthy lives, within the means of our one planet, leaving space for wildlife and wilderness.
If everyone across the world lived the lifestyle of someone in western Europe, we’d need almost three planets to support us. We created our One Planet Living framework nearly 20 years ago to help communities to live within the boundaries of our planet.
Our track record is strong - there are now 1.3 million people around the world that are part of communities with a deep commitment to One Planet Living, but we need that number to grow – and fast.
We're in a climate and ecological emergency. The decisions we make in the next few years will shape the future of all life on earth. With your support we can go further, to ensure we live within the limits of our planet.
Every grant that we are awarded supports projects that help communities to respond to the climate and ecological emergency, from grassroots innovation to global initiatives.
Your support will have a direct impact on the following:
