‘Carbon tunnel vision’ means too few businesses are taking action to preserve the natural world on which they depend. Iona Murphy explains the first steps to turning ambition into action

I spent 7 years as a market researcher where I managed multi-market projects for brands like Apple, Disney and the NBA. During my time as a researcher, I sat on the industry body Market Research Society sustainability council and was instrumental in the development of the MRS Net Zero CEO Pledge, as well as authoring a chapter of the Insight Climate Collective Report 'Net Zero In Sight' to launch later this year.
I made the move into sustainability consulting in 2021 with Watts Sustainability, where I worked across a mix of carbon footprinting and sustainability communications projects, designing and delivering IEMA approved training courses for brands like South Western Railway and the Institute of Cancer Research.
I have a distinction in MSc Sustainable Development from the University of Surrey and am an Associate member of IEMA.
