He has been employed by A2Dominion Group for over five years and has been instrumental in the development of the UK’s First Eco-town at NW Bicester, Oxfordshire since its inception over four years ago. He currently acts as Project Director for this One Planet Communities endorsed scheme.

Steve led both the design and planning teams to develop the pioneering first Exemplar phase of NW Bicester, in line with the Governments strict PPS1 for eco-towns. He is now managing the construction of the first phase which began in March 2014 and includes 393 highly energy efficient homes to create the only large scale true zero-carbon community in the UK.

A2Dominion in partnership with Bioregional have created a design to foster a community that is vibrant, resilient and sustainable. The Exemplar incorporates a primary school, district heating energy centre, shops, eco pub and an eco-business centre. It will include the UK’s largest residential solar array, technology designed to cope with climate change and zero waste to landfill during construction including all excavated material. A sustainable transport strategy aims to reduce car usage in Bicester from 67.5% to 50% of local journeys by improving public transport with real time information about bus and train services in every home, an electric car club and an extensive cycling and walking network.

Steve is also instrumental in the project management of a masterplan for the wider NW Bicester Eco-town, which over the next 30 years could provide up to 6,000 highly energy efficient homes, supporting facilities and infrastructure built to high environmental standards, with 40% green space and the creation of up to 6,000 new jobs.
